Defining the Metaverse is a challenge in itself. There is currently no single accepted way to define nor democratize its use.

The definition most would understand is that the Metaverse is a network of virtual worlds focused on creating vast social connections through Virtual or Augmented Reality.

It’s only recently that this concept has taken the tech world by storm. Facebook reinvented itself as Meta to take the giant further into the field of virtual expanses and virtual shopping.

Online gaming giants Epic Games have not only built Fornite into a global gaming phenomenon but it’s also one of the first players that have wholeheartedly embraced the Metaverse evolution.

However, with the rise of such an important turning point in the conversation of Extended Reality (XR) and all things immersive, there must be a few notable topics of discussion and debate
for those within the business world.

Is this an opportunity to grow businesses? What does it mean for everyday lives? The implications for the educational space and what are the challenges?

AIXR had the privilege of hosting a round-table conversation involving some of the top experts in XR at Accenture.
